Has anyone adventured into a country where you don't know anybody, don't speak the language, and don't intent on getting out of it for at lest a few months?
In my experience, it's quite overwhelming.
Learn the language on the fly, do our job well, make friends that speak limited English, always look sharp, so people take you seriously and maybe get a promotion opportunity, date...
My plan was to get out of my shell, become more social, resilient, capable and resurrect the part o my brain that got me through chemo, that part that allows us to lagth at ourselfs and find the good in a bad situation. Don't know how to call it.
Right now I'm struggling with most of it, including the schedule (holy hell).
Anyone with XP on this area? How did you go through it and did you find out about yourself?
