Showing up your Teammates
To be a great teammate on the field, you cannot physically do or say anything negative to the other 8 men/women on the field! Mistakes will happen and nobody is trying to make errors on purpose. It annoys me when I see people take out their frustration on teammates! As a pitcher, you would have absolutely no success without your position players, you won’t strike everyone out! Learn to appreciate the amazing plays they will make for you and even the routine ones. They wouldn’t be successful without you, either!
If there is ever a need for a conversation about hustle or effort, it needs to be addressed off of the field or in between innings. There’s nothing more embarrassing than being yelled at by a coach for making an error in front of all the parents and fans because you know that you didn’t intentionally make that mistake.
Love your teammates and they will love you! Chemistry is so important in baseball!
