Getting uncomfortable
Anything.
You need to change.
Means getting uncomfortable.
As described by Kurt Lewin.
(The famous social psychologist).
In his simple 3-stages:
1) Unfreezing: Knowing the need for change.
2) Changing: Moving to the new behaviour via participation.
3) Refreezing: Making the new behaviour normal.
The second stage is when you feel uncomfortable.
Because you must unlearn.
Unlearn the familiar, what’s comfortable.
(And learn the new unfamiliar while uncomfortable).
This probably explains why online language apps don’t really work.
(And can’t teach you fluency).
Not only are they passive.
They don’t make you uncomfortable or participate enough!
But.
You need to be brave enough to feel uncomfortable.
And achieve your goal.
To your success!
