Startling Fact….
I am a lifetime learner…I am always researching, reading, taking classes and even in a lot of challenges.
I enjoy being challenged. But there is the other side of it too. I have been a nurse for a long time. No one comes out of school knowing everything. I would be responsible for other people’s lives.
So, it would be arrogant to think I knew everything. It is a smarter person who asks for help so they can better serve the people they help.
I knew someone in my field that was what some people call a “know it all.” She would never ask for help. One day she made a critical mistake. Luckily, we were there to help the patient. But the mistake cost her, her career.
I always want to serve my clients at the highest level and that means offering them the best and most current information.
As a nutritionist that means meeting people where they are at now and helping them reach their goals in a way that suits them and not trying to force them into my box of crayons.
When I first came online, I really had very little technical skills. I knew I wanted to help people but didn’t know how to reach them.
So again, I had to ask for help. A very smart businessman and coach @ Dan Harrison said we need to raise our Standards for ourselves rather than lower our expectations. That really changed my beliefs about my value at a time I really needed to hear it.
It’s ironic how people will pay for useless gadgets, and level up on a new car, new home, a better vacation but will nickel and dime it when it comes to investing in themselves.
The truth is if they don’t think they are worth the investment they won’t put in the work and get those results.
So, I don’t work with people who try to nickel and dime me when I am offering them optimal health and saving them thousands on future medical bills.
I know I am great at what I do. The sad part for me is I know I will see them in the same place or worse next year or the year after that. Still trying to lose weight, or having chronic pain in their joints because of it, low energy and no confidence. But I will help them when they are ready.
Most people (likely you) over analyze their path to becoming successful at achieving their goals.
They think about what they want...
They think about what people will say...
They think about what could go wrong...
They think about what they might lose if they fail…
They think about whether they're capable or not...
They think…
They think some more…
They think themselves right into irrelevance.
...and all this thinking is ultimately what prevents them from doing any of the cool shit they dream about for their life.
Successful people don’t over analyze what they want they just act. That’s it! …and they never stop day after day after day.
