What a Day!
I gotta tell you all... just keep going. There will be days like this.....so dont feel you are alone when they come...
...so my day started awesome. Had a great half-hour chat and Q&A with who is super helpful and supportive.... and we covered a lot in 30 mins. Thanks a $million, Robb.
And then it all went downhill 😱 from there.
I had a DR to test, upload a cleaned list, begin the drip campaign, get launched. Although I had one VA test the automations to the right calendars, etc. the night before...
....Whatever could go wrong did go wrong. I hope you will realise that stuff happens and don't worry... keep learning. Give yourself time to go through the process but also question if it's the best use of YOUR time.
My client has an event/bootcamp I am booking from his DR... but I had never used a 'class calendar'
before. Be prepared for a learning curve on CALENDARS... they are my catalyst for patience! πŸ˜’ After today I have booked a call with Extendly!! I need to make sales not deal with tech.
Last night the calendar worked fine....so I thought I had messed up somewhere.
Yet, we could not figure out for HOURS why the calendar worked yesterday but not today... TL:DR, the client had blocked out time overnight on his google calendar - which of course meant nothing could now book the ONLY time he had for the event in the class calendar. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ
NB: Always check and prevent a client from blocking time for a class event like a boot camp or seminar - it seemed it was not bookable - and yet we had allowed for 15 people to come to his bootcamp... TL:DR, When I saw a blocked time on his GOOGLE calendar. (Hint: not GHL calendar) Since we CANNOT control what he enters in his Gmail calendar, I realised it was his end not on our end. So that got corrected 🌟- DONE! βœ”
Next, we had issues testing his text-to-pay invoices.... the TEST invoices link would NOT open on mobile... it took nearly 90 mins to figure out that a live invoice would open for 3 of us testing -client, me and VA.... but not a TEST. A LIVE link was what matter not TEST - got that got sorted enough. βœ”
Next, we could not get the database to load all 2300 of the list... only 997 loaded. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
Yikes. We removed them all and tried again. The problem was after another hour of figuring it out that the issue seemed to be old tags the client wanted - old clients, leads, and service-type TAGS that he valued.
How did we solve this??... we loaded the list with ONLY one tag column at a time... so removed all but one tag column, saved the CSV and uploaded. Then /replaced/inserted the next tag column and uploaded it to update the list, then repeated for the last set of tags. DONE! βœ”
Next, the client couldn't see his Gmail calendar appointments in the app, and it was not updating... Gmail can be slow to sync. We showed him to refresh or log out of the app. DONE! βœ”
Then, dummy test appointments we had now deleted were still on his app and he wanted a clean slate. DONE! He had to log out to see the conversations nice and blank to begin his DR.... not TODAY... we missed it. but TOMORROW...better a day late and well troubleshooted(?) (or shot?) than blow the start of the DR up for a new client. πŸ‘
The point is it's not always smooth... but if you give yourself time to breathe and follow the guidelines in here... you are light years ahead of anyone trying to do this without this help - and support from GHL
Worst of all I knew I was going to have a busy end of the week.. so I paused my prospecting efforts!! Completely wrong thinking... a business only thrives bc of sales. How many sales calls did I miss due to all this time spent on something I am not the best at?
I had to think about the highest and BEST use of my time. Doing Tech vs SALES.
I learned a huge amount today... it never stops. It was not easy but I know more from the experience so not all is lost. Still, I am reminded a lot about the priorities to face in business growth.
Extendly... here I come!
Tomorrow another DR for a client who knows the ropes so it should be nice and smooth... what are the chances????
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
UPDATE: So the Launch went well, with plenty of contact cleaning with STOP replies, which I warned the client about so he didn't freak out, and of course, after 200 SMS's sent on a Friday (not a great day for DR) we got 1 booking and 4 YES replies. It works! and we are only 7% through the campaign. I will change the offer slightly for clarity... but all good.
