With a history of innovation that includes the integration of the latest technologies, like modern switchboard installation, Air Landline is redefining the telecoms industry.
Their approach to telecoms is not just about a service, it’s about changing the way we communicate.
Air Landline Features
Virtual Business Number
I have a virtual business number with Air Landline and it really supports my local presence.
It looks like I’m part of the community, which builds trust and interaction with clients.
This is perfect for local SEO without having an office in every area.
Call Diverting
Air Landline makes having a traditional phone line unnecessary as it diverts my calls to my mobile.
I can be flexible and mobile and not miss any calls.
It’s good for clients as they can call locally and it’s cost effective for both parties.
No Internet Required
No internet needed with Air Landline.
Calls are received like regular mobile calls, high quality communication.
This is perfect when working remotely or on the move.
Security Measures
The security with Air Landline keeps my communications safe.
It uses a robust, foolproof system that will keep the service running even if the servers go down.
This gives me peace of mind.
Business Call Alert
I can see business calls on my mobile as Air Landline shows my business number instead of the caller’s.
There’s also an option to show the caller’s number with a prompt that plays after I answer, so I know what type of call it is.
Customised Call Experience
Air Landline lets me customise the call experience with custom greetings and hold music.
Clients like this as it’s professional.
I can choose from pre-recorded or upload my own.
Business Hours
Setting business hours helps me balance work and personal time.
It ensures any calls that come in outside of hours are handled properly, so I’m not disturbed.
Chain Call Forwarding
Chain call forwarding means if I’m unavailable a colleague can take the call.
This reduces the chance of missing important calls and opportunities.
The call can ring multiple numbers at once or in a specific order.
Time Based Call Routing
Time based call routing is perfect for businesses that operate shifts.
Calls can be routed according to a schedule set in the Air Landline control panel.
No need to hand over a company phone as calls can go straight to staff’s personal mobiles during work hours.
Voicemail to Email and Call Storage
Voicemail transcriptions sent to my email and the ability to record calls makes my agency more effective.
It means important communications are recorded and available when I need them.
WhatsApp for Business
Having a separate WhatsApp for Business with Air Landline is convenient.
It keeps my work and personal communications separate so I don’t have to manage two phones.
Call Storage
Air Landline has optional call storage which can record calls.
This is useful for long conversations when taking notes is tricky, so I can refer back to the recorded conversation later.
Simple Control Panel
The Air Landline control panel is easy to use.
Accessing voicemail, call history and recordings is simple, for daily operations.
Cost Plans
Air Landline has a fixed price plan so I don’t have to compare multiple options.
As a small business owner I found their pricing to be affordable and good value.
It’s been worth the investment for my business.
Plus their 30 day money back guarantee means I can try out their features risk free, so I know it’s a good investment.
Customer Support
I’m always impressed with Air Landline’s customer service.
They have a 4.9-star rating on Trustpilot which says it all.
From my experience their team responds and resolves issues quickly.
Their 24/7 technical support is a big bonus for me as a business owner, so I know help is available when I need it.
They really do excel at after sales support.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
Clear Pricing: No contract and unlimited calls to your mobile with no surprise bills.
I can leave at any time with no cost, so I have peace of mind.
Simple Setup: The process to set up a virtual landline is super easy.
Within minutes I had my new number emailed to me and I was ready to go.
When I tested it, the calls went straight to my mobile.
Their Control Panel is also easy to use so I can activate features like greetings or call recording.
Great Call Quality: The service is top notch with great call quality and support.
Trustpilot reviews agree with 4.9/5 stars which matches my experience.
Unlike other services that use internet apps, calls go to actual mobile numbers so I can have uninterrupted communication and a professional image for my business.
Cons:
Text Message Limitation: One drawback is that landline numbers can’t receive SMS.
I’ve worked around this by linking my landline to WhatsApp Business.
This has been quite useful as I don’t receive messages at inconvenient hours.
No Physical Line: Some businesses might miss having a traditional landline.
Although calls are routed to mobiles, not having a physical line might be a minus for some.
Air Landline does offer the option to buy a physical line but that’s extra cost.
Air Landline vs Other Providers
When I was looking for a virtual landline for my business I had a few options to choose from. Each had its pros and cons. Here’s how Air Landline compares to others.
SwitchboardFREE:
SwitchboardFREE has several plans but none of them offer truly unlimited call diversion to a mobile number which is what I need.
Being able to receive calls without an app or internet is key.
Their Standard Plan is £14 and allows 2,500 minutes of mobile diversion. They have a £16 Unlimited plan but it’s only 1,200 minutes for mobile numbers.
Air Landline’s £9.99 plan is cheaper and more convenient with unlimited mobile diversion.
SwitchboardFREE’s extra costs really make Air Landline look good.
For example, call recording with SwitchboardFREE is £14.96 per month, Air Landline includes it for free.
Also, if you want to switch away from SwitchboardFREE you’ll be charged a £50 admin fee for number porting.
Air Landline doesn’t charge to leave and has a 30 day money back guarantee.
Trustpilot reviews for SwitchboardFREE show some concerns.
Users mention 90 day initial lock in, app issues, call quality problems and customer service complaints.
Also I found a misleading comparison on their site that didn’t show Air Landline’s features like time of day call routing and ability to have multiple numbers under one account.
These were the reasons I decided to stick with Air Landline.
Virtual Telephone Service:
They have a nice domain name. But none of their 4 plans offer truly unlimited usage.
Their “Pro Unlimited” plan is £9.12 and says “Totally unlimited*” free minutes. But upon closer inspection it’s limited to 1,000 minutes to UK mobiles per month. Any excess is 4p per minute.
With Air Landline’s £9.99 plan I have truly unlimited mobile diversion and no surprise charges.
Call recording and voicemail transcription is not available with Virtual Telephone Service. While this might not be a deal breaker for everyone I like to be able to listen to call recordings or read voicemails on the go.
Their terms also state a £50 fee if you transfer your number to another provider within 6 months.
Trustpilot reviews mention dropped calls and connectivity issues which is what I’m trying to avoid by routing calls directly to my mobile.
Because of these limitations and issues I decided to stick with Air Landline.
Tamar Communications:
They have several pricing models but like the others truly unlimited mobile diversion is not available.
The “Enterprise” plan is £12.12 and has 6,000 minutes of mobile call diversion. That’s a lot but not as good as Air Landline’s unlimited for £9.99.
Tamar Communications is good in that like Air Landline they route calls to mobile numbers not apps which makes connectivity easier. But their extra features are expensive.
Call whisper is £3.31 extra and call recording is £6.99 both of which are free with my Air Landline package.
I couldn’t find a money back guarantee on their site which makes Air Landline even more attractive.
Their Trustpilot reviews mostly mention billing issues which is often due to late payment and being disconnected. This doesn’t necessarily reflect on Tamar Communications’ service quality.
I’ve decided to stick with Air Landline.
Customer Reviews
I see many users agree with me that Air Landline is the best. On Trustpilot it has 4.9 out of 5 stars. Customer satisfaction is very high with 98% of users giving it 5 stars. They love the service and support.
