Challenges for MLL's
I am not a teacher nor do i have a background in education. Yet, after joining AIR as our CTO i have discovered through countless stories and testimonials that there is a huge problem in our American education system.
Over 5 million students in the U.S. are learning English, yet English proficiency among these learners has been declining over the past four years. Research shows that language acquisition requires consistent exposure to reading and listening just beyond a learner's current level—a challenge for many students.
I really think that students need engaging, level-appropriate reading choices. Choices that are personalized and accessible to all MLL's. What do you think?
