How would you build up the workshop session?

Hello, super-facilitators!

I'm in need of help. How would you build up the workshop session?

I have a client who wants to have workshop session instead of focus-group interview to find out what are the needs and dreams of topics they want to study (to learn something about related with their hobby or that would improve their work-life tremendously).

Also that I would found out their reasons why they need one or another topic to learn. 40 people, no connection other that that they have participated previously in some study sessions. I would divide them into 4 groups. And every group gets 1,5 hours.

How would you built up the session? What canvases would you use?
