Diet
Challenge - does your diet need a tidy up? The gut is possibly more important than the brain in dealing with Mental Health and therefore it is extremely important to ensure that you diet is working for you rather than against you.
If it helps, grab a friend and your calendar ( you can do this on your phone in the notes section) Just keep a record of the days that you were able to do the following (tick) and the days that you couldn't (x). Don't beat yourself up, you are just trying to create new habits.
For 30 days do you think that you could track your eating and ensure that you cut out the following:
  • Energy drinks
  • Flavoured milks
  • All sweetened soda drinks
  • All processed foods, especially cereals, white bread and white pasta
  • All processed sugar
  • ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL
  • No caffeine
  • Limit your fruit consumption for the time being, healing your gut is important
Then add in:
  • protein at each meal (more about this later)
  • extra water - see if you can get to 3 litres a day
  • 5 serves of vegetables
  • a good probiotic/tribiotic or some fermented food like kimchi, sauerkraut etc
