Im a up and coming videographer/editor looking into the best ways to get paid by editing/filming. Im here to talk about strategies and what you guys are doing/thinking with your business plans. Personally, I just started shooting videos in October of 2022. I am a self-taught videographer that mainly shoots music videos. I would like to go to college for it one day but in the mean time im doing what I can. I started doing music videos for cheap and im currently trying to raise my prices to make it more worth my time. In doing this I found a lot of people are cheap😂 so, I put together a plan. I wanted to be able to keep a cheap price, but still be able to make big money for videos. That being said, I created a music video series that requires little editing, and has to get posted to my channel to build my brand. In doing so, im still able to keep the cheap prices and get those sales while also building my brand through a YouTube channel. Also, it allowed me to up the price of a regular music video and get paid more for all the time that goes into that. Now that my music videos are consistently coming and my brand is being built in my city, I am trying to make my way into working with businesses (event recaps, advertisements, commercials, etc). Im wondering if anyone has any stories/tips starting to work with businesses that will help me get my foot in the door. Also wondering what type of strategies you guys got to create income (do you do content?, do you create editing packs?, do you take picutres?). Im trying to figure out the overall best way to keep a good income consistently coming with videography/editing.
