It almost doesn’t matter how hard you row. What really matters is the size of the boat.
I think this quote comes from Warren Buffett. Earlier in my career I would kill myself for a job that I never had an opportunity to make more than 50k. I thought if I was the hardest worker that it would eventually payoff. Usually it really does but what I didn’t realize I was in a really small boat going no where fast.
A big boat has tons of money flowing into it. Those boats have opportunities and are way more interested in keeping hard working talent.
If you’re killing it and not getting paid what you are worth. Maybe you’re in the wrong boat.
