Idea Thread 💡Starting a Skool Community
Hey Creators! I know a lot of us have been considering starting a community here on Skool, and I’ve also seen Mariah sharing that she is putting together some resources to help us get started and answer questions— so, I thought it would be mutually beneficial for us to compile our thoughts, ideas and questions into one post.

I’m thinking of starting a Skool community that is open to the public as well as for my clients. My intentions would be:
🤩 Create a more conversational experience with my podcast episodes.
🥂 Use it as a place to practice sharing ONLY Champagne Client Content.
💖 Use it as a space to host free/low ticket events (joining the community as the only way to get access.)
📈 Take advantage of the leaderboard and strategically have content to be unlocked that primes my community for my high ticket offer.
🤓 Nerd out on the SEO by repurposing pillar blog content into posts.
📲 Use it as a space to DM folks since I’m not on social. (Although there is no voice note feature so that is a huge difference. Would have to use some outside tech to send a voice note and they wouldn’t be able to send one back… could give them your Voxer handle?)
❓QUESTIONS❓
(Some of these require researching the platform itself)
What are Skool’s data tracking policies? How safe is this platform when it comes to privacy?
What are the ethics of the founders of this platform… I’m getting some pretty intense bro-marketing vibes. As a woman of color this really matters to me when choosing a platform. Do they have an ethics statement or values statement available for review?
What are the logistics of hosting a free, public event in this space? There is no live video so it sounds like the calendar feature is what we would use…
Can you have sub-groups where your private clients can see only posts meant for them or would you have to open a second community?
As a course creator who teaches about prioritizing and focus— is having a course connected to a community a benefit or a potential distraction?
💡 ADD YOUR IDEAS AND QUESTIONS IN THE COMMENTS. 💡
Hoping this helps all of us workshop ideas and gives Mariah a hub of inspiration for the resources she is creating.
