make.com and using operations every minut

Maybe it's just me that don't understand make.com

But seems like just having an automation waiting for a action to happen and checking for it every 1min, then it uses 1 operation every minute.

That means just having one automation setup without it doing anything using 1440 operation every day... Am I understanding this wrong?

Maybe I have setup something wrong haha
