VT-Miami game. Rant about football in general.
Outside of the obvious catch and touchdown, there was no indisputable evidence to say it wasn’t
Rant.Listen, it’s 2024. Why are we still relying on human judgment to make game deciding decisions when the technology we have is incredible. Games and calls like this always bring up the questions for me about rules and reviews.
The UFL has laser and camera technology for ball placement and it went great. Everyone was happy. Why cant the NFL and CFB adapt this? Because it takes away from the unpredictable-ness that heavily favors the betting books? Why can we not challenge penalties or challenge the lack of one? You know how many obvious holding calls, PI calls, and or personal fouls are never called. Sometimes even called wrong. Proof is on camera, cant do anything about it. In the case of game enders like this, you cant tell me that hundreds of angled camera around the field are out of the NCAA’s budget…
This game also brings to light the ability to rig sports. (call me a conspiracy theorist idc.) If you rule a TD, you don’t search for a way to overturn the call for 5 FUCKING MINUTES unless you realllyyyyy want the other team to win. Rant over.
