Time : how you can use it to save money
The more time you have:
-better deals you find
-More efficiently you can build …and planning elements to flow together better such as incorporating geothermal and septic bed together(dig once).
- There are regulation for windows and stairs, but no regulation for wall panelling , 3-D art and materials in the house. Still have all the time to buy this from outside of Canada through trusted suppliers.
- Sometimes Supplier do not give you any discounts because you need the item now
- more time will allow you to do things on your own like digging a foundation could cost 15 or $20,000 versus you renting a backhoe for a one month for $5000 and get it done to self. It takes knowledge obviously.
- Think of it like half the things on Amazon…The things on Amazon are available to be shipped from AliExpress for half or a third of the cost but it takes longer to get.
You could even create time:
-after you build the basics of your home for example, the foundation framing roof and exterior weathering materials . (Envelope) you can fix the house from the inside how you like it… from Drywall all the way down to the artwork on your wall.
-You don’t need to finish the house right away. I think city/townships give you two years on the building permit.
