In Spanish, when people want to know what you do for a living, they ask: ¿A qué te dedicas? – What do you dedicate yourself to?
It's assuming that what you do isn't just "a job", it's a dedication. I wonder how many people actually feel like this? Like they're dedicating their life to an important cause...
Let's practice!
Describe what you DO rather than what you or others think your ARE. So, don't say "I'm a chiropractor" (What you are), say what you're dedicated to. Imagine telling it to your 12-year-old niece or nephew.
