Hey y'all! Justin Webster here! Owner of Webster Land Services in the Orlando area here in Florida. I'm relatively new to the excavation industry. I've been an owner/operator of my business here for 2.5 years. It's been a really good industry to me and my growing family.
I currently operate in the new construction/custom home lot prep and grading business. I also install recycled material roads at these locations and privately in the residential sector. I just started getting into offering retaining walls as a natural progression to the services that I offer to those builders. This has led to the realization that the hardscaping and residential market seems to be a race to the bottom in some respects.
Due to this and after some conversations with Andy (our trusted leader here), I have decided to start looking to branch into the commercial/civil side of the industry. I believe I can be successful with this.
The plan is to continue to provide services to the custom home builders while I work to step into this side of the industry. The revenue from the custom builders is very good and consistent. But fluctuates with the phases of the house builds. This revenue enables me to invest in the company.
I am looking to learn as much as I can in the 90 days here and make a big push to enter this side of the industry and begin my path of growth to a larger business that I can grow and develop. I have been stuck in a phase of "Analysis Paralysis" and struggling to step in a direction due to all the "what if's" and lack of experience in that side of the industry. I am hoping with the group of experience here, I am able to break this stagnation and make some big strides to growing the company successfully.
