What is the biggest distraction in your day-to-day operations? Your biggest headache? What things eat away at your time, or cause sleepless nights?
If you have ever feel stuck or frustrated with the business side of things, this community was designed for you. Anthem EQ was formed to help trainers by providing tools, strategies, and a supportive space to help you take your business to the next level. I would like to hear what your number one obstacle is in your day-to day operations that keeps you from getting ahead. Or worse - from enjoying what you do. So whether it’s balancing training with administrative B.S., managing employees, or being able to charge more for your time... I’m here to help you tackle it.
A Bit About Me: My name is Michelle Shaffer, and for the last 16 years I have been wrapped up in all things Aerospace (moving cross-country and raising three kids!) I led large-scale new product development projects for commercial, defense and space platforms. This required strong leadership skills, managing cross-functional teams and hefty stakeholder relationships, and to align teams with competing priorities to see common goals. Stressful, but rewarding. My favorite part was developing new team members - teaching them the ropes and managing a global portfolio. Before Aerospace, I worked with small businesses on annual planning, and helped my parents in their construction business. And going back even further, I attended the University of Wisconsin - River Falls, where I was introduced to reining. (I'm still hooked!) and even spent a summer working with a fantastic East Coast trainer and a legend in the reining industry.
Fast forward to 5 years ago, I was finally able to get back to my lifelong passion and buy another horse. I got back into showing and couldn't help but see more and more parallels in my career that could make a difference for horse trainers and help lift the industry. For those of you asking how the hell does Aerospace Project Management translate to horse training(?) the principles are universal! I go into it in more detail in the Intro. once you join.
What Can You Expect from Anthem EQ? I will be holding weekly meetings to provide tools and strategies on how to implement them in your business, and then provide further guidance and feedback in following sessions. We can adjust the pace or add meetings as needed. The community is also a place for members to discuss and share what's working for them, or provide feedback or encouragement to others.
I would also like to make a positive impact on the industry by facilitating how we attract, develop; and retain newcomers to the industry and match them with the best job opportunities. I want your input on how we can clarify the various roles, the expectations on job performance, and make finding the right fit for available opportunities easier for everyone.
And this is just the beginning—I want this community to grow and adapt to the real challenges you're facing, and that’s where your input comes in. Please take a moment to fill out the survey (check out the Anthem EQ page on Facebook for the survey) and share your feedback and the key topics you would like to see addressed. Or leave comments on this thread if you prefer. Your feedback is crucial in shaping this community!
