Deconstructing ≠ Atheism
I have been around the deconstruction community and deconstructing people for a long time. And there is definitely an element of rage within the space.
It’s hard to confront that you went to a church looking for God and found judgment, hierarchy, and emotional trauma.
I hope that within this group, we can peek behind the anger and find the moments that made us feel unseen, undervalued, and mistreated within church culture.
Healing that changes everything.
But as you get comfortable in here, I want you to know that Deconstruction does not have to be entirely DESTRUCTIVE of your relationship with God.
For some, it may have a season of anger with God. Your beliefs may waver and your may feel uncertain.
That part is normal!
But it is my desire to see you challenge and test and wrestle with God—and with yourself—so God can reveal to you the truth about your journey and the paradigms that have shaped you so far.
Because NOT everything that you believe about you, about God, and about the world is actually TRUE.
Deconstruction is about breaking down what you believe so you can keep what is true and have the courage to discard what is not.
We are choosing HEALING to open the doorway to reimagining and redefining your beliefs and therefore who you are at the core.
So when you feel destructive, it’s ok. I encourage you to not stay there. Some people do. And it doesn’t feel as good as it seems. Keep moving. In this journey, you get to choose:
Stay where you are — OR — Turn the page.
Leave a 📖 if you are committed to turning the page.
