💪 How To Avoid Wear & Tear From Exercise As You Age
Myth: A lot of people as they age believe they need to train more, train harder, and push their bodies to its absolute limits to see results, because they got older. Running, cycling, hiking, pilates, workouts … Now the problem with that is: Wear And Tear. Injuries. Back Pain, Knee Pain .. more exercise is hardly the answer. The answer is to do strength training 2-4x a week and walk 10k steps a day. That way you strengthen your muscles, bones and the walking keeps you burning fat while keeping the wear and tear at bay. The answer is to dial in your nutrition. More PROTEIN. More PLANT-BASED Collagen / Glycine (Vegan Collagen boosting supplement). Omega-3. To reduce inflammation and maximize recovery. @Josh B Since it's sweet I either sprinkle it over my porridge or add to a cup of black tea or black coffee. It could probably work well with smoothies or veg yoghurts. The brand I use is OstroVit - it has a good price, convenient packaging and it was recommended by a friend I trust. Here's a link to the one I have https://ostrovit.com/en/products/ostrovit-glycine-200-g-19418.html

@Jeri Heller I'm not from US so I'm not very familiar with American brands. The two I know that are trustworthy are Swanson and Now Foods. Both of them have glycine powder - I've seen it on iHerb. You can ask the brands directly if their glycine powder is synthetic (lab made) - that would mean it's vegan.
What was your reason for going vegan?
Hey Guys, I wanna get to know you better: What was your reason for going vegan? I went vegan for health and "performance" after having watched The Gamechangers. But I stayed vegan for the animals :)

Tbh I've never understood the appeal of meat. Never had cravings for it, never found it tasty. I ate some diary though but gave it up due to health reasons.
Plant-exclusive ways to get the full amino-acid-profile in one meal
Hey team, I am just about to study the science of getting the full essential amino-acid range in one plant-exclusive meal. While Tempeh and Tofu seem to meet the requirements, seitan (despite being extremely tasty and therefore attractive) as a protein source lacks lysine (as all grains do). See https://vegfaqs.com/seitan-amino-acid-profile/ to follow my thoughts. Now I would like to know: has anyone experiemnted so far with Seitan recipes including chickpea flour or legumes at all? I seems as if by combining the two ingredients, we can achieve a full essential amino acid profile...

Not sure about flour, but you could try legume pasta i.e. lentil penne with seitan.
We need to settle it: Guacamole or Hummus?

Hummus is a masterpiece. Also I'm not a fan of avocados.
