A free community for indie startup founders, and people that bootstrapped their own side project.
Bots Invasion !
My free and open community for entrepreneurs was cruising along with 140 members until a bunch of bots joined, spamming our threads with junk. šŸ™ƒ Itā€™s a real reminder that building a communityā€”even on Skoolā€”isnā€™t all smooth sailing. To fix it, Iā€™ve added member validation to keep things clean and focused - even tho it will require some moderation effortsā€¦ Growth is never without its challenges, but thatā€™s part of the journey! šŸ’Ŗ If youā€™re a Skool community owner, how are you handling challenges like this? Letā€™s share ideas and keep improving! šŸ‘‡

@Brynn Bijou Oh nice, how do you keep it super active?
How to choose your Community niche šŸ¤”
Choosing the right niche is crucial for building a successful Skool community. Hereā€™s how you can find yours: 1. Find Your Passion: Start with a topic you genuinely enjoy and can discuss endlessly. 2. Identify Your Strengths: Focus on what youā€™re good at and where you have expertise. 3. Research Market Demand: Ensure thereā€™s a growing audience interested in your niche. 4. Define Your Target Audience: Be specific about who you want to serve. 5. Evaluate the Competition: Look for gaps in the market where you can stand out. 6. Test and Validate Your Idea: Start small to gauge interest and refine your niche. 7. Align with Your Goals: Choose a niche that supports your long-term objectives. If you choose a bad niche for your community, it can be over before itā€™s even started. Make sure you choose a good niche for your communityā€¦

Here is one: https://indieskool.com
Even a free community is charged 99$/mo ?
So Iā€™m a barber planning to do a free community, which will help barbers get their first clients and then Make them switch to a paid at ā‚¬9.99 per month. Planning to do the paid one a year later does that mean if I start a free community from now I have to pay $1200 till then?

Yesā€¦ I have the same plan for my Indie entrepreneurs community. It's been 2 months, we're 140 members now. I'll probably switch to paid before 1 year tho :)
