Great video. Actually found one today while I was reporting. Made sure asking a few colleagues first who were also unaware of the variant but agreed with the report.
coronal T1 sequence in knee MRI necessary?
hi everyone i am curious, do you do a cor T1 (or other T1) in your standard MR knee protocol? I am quite used to it, but honestly, I think i am going to scrap it. any commentS?

Our standard knee protocol includes both sag and cor T1. I find the coronal sometimes helps me to describe OA/fractures and to search for certian pathology such as Segond fractures or loose bodies. It is probably not that useful for most patients but it is easier for us leaving it in the standard protocol rather than relying on the scanning radiographer to decide when it is required. Then again, I am also not worried if it is missed out and am happy to report without it.

@Christoph Agten thanks Christoph. The only reason I look at the sag T1 regularly is to quickly examine Hoffa's fat pad for any tumours. We do carry out a PDFS sag at our institution as standard. However I am not in the position of changing our protocols anyway. That is firmly within the hands of the radiologists. And probably rightly so. It will be interesting to hear what other institutions do though. Our standard is PDFS axial, cor and sag with T1 sag and cor.

Hi everyone. I am an advance practice radiographer, independently reporting MRI of knees and spines in the UK. (I realise this can be a little controversial), but I am just finding ways to improve my knowledge going forward. In my spare time I like to try and play some guitar, roaming around in my motorhome and walking the dogs.
