Let me and everybody else know where you are located (the most of the time) maybe we are neighbors and we don't even know it :)

So, let's say I see this girl at a random party, club, or whatever. I go over to her and open the convo with a low-pressure question or introduction. For example, use the "Simple and Direct" way. After that, at step 1.5 I'll act like I'm about to go away, but then suddenly as I'm about to go, then say "Hey wait, you seem cool. What's your name?". I usually always start by asking what their name is, so how can I do step 1.5 when I already know the name? I'm quite confused about the step 1.5 part. Is there anyone who has understood it well that can explain?
