Hi all. 57yo in Melbourne, Australia. I am C4 incomplete due to surgery following an aortic dissection July 2022. 1% survival rate so very grateful to still be here. Spent 9 months in hospital and lost 35kgs and all muscle mass. They said I will never walk again and my goal is to prove them wrong. Had little to no rehab in hospital as they had given up on my ability to recover at all. No movement in legs or left arm. 5 months now after leaving the hospital and a lot of physio work and gym work I can lift my 3yo daughter onto my lap and support my weight /walking steps using Sara Plus (see pics).......A long way to go and a lot of hard work but finding this group I feel will be instrumental in achieving many more goals. People around me say I'm really motivated.......I tell them I'm totally COMMITTED. Looking forward to interacting with this community.
