Music Industry Going to ZERO?!
Introduction
Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is David and I’m the singer for the NY Pop duo ‘No Fltr”. I am also a songwriter, photographer and recently got into shooting music videos and short films (& I direct, shoot & edit all of No Fltr’s vids). Successes: - I ran a FB/IG marketing campaign for our group with a $300 budget targeting tier 1 countries which got picked up by the algorithm and the song is currently sitting at 34.5K streams on Spotify. - Our first music video I shot for the same song got picked up by the YouTube algorithm and helped us gain 312 subscribers in 2 months completely organically. Where We Are Currently: - We are currently working on building up our song catalog to better be able to build up momentum and a following on DSP’s and social media through consistent sustained promotion. This will also help us maximize the marketing dollars we spend. Value We Can Provide: - We have a few singles that we will be releasing in these next few months as wells as a marketing and content strategy we’ll be applying for the songs. I’ll be posting case studies of the results of said strategies and ad campaigns and all the lessons learned so people can learn through our experience. - If you’re in NY and are looking for a videographer/photographer to work with I am here. - My buddy Hunter who is the other half of No Fltr is an extremely talented Pop, Rock and RnB producer/songwriter so if you’re serious about leveling up your songs/productions and are looking for someone to work with in those genres hit me up or DM us on Ig and we’ll connect. What We Are Looking For: - We are looking to connect and network with likeminded and driven artists on the same wavelengths as us, and to learn from our peers in this community as it takes a village to build ad break an artist and have a sustainable career. Thank you to all of you who have been posting in this community as I have already learned a lot from the short time I have been on here.

Artists/ Producers: What Genre of Music Do You Make?
Hey everyone! just trying to get an overview of what kind of music everyone on here makes. I feel artists in different genres may brand and market themselves differently than others. If I missed your genre select the other button and comment below on what it is.

@K.p. Bolden Hey man! thank you for the insight into this. I know how a lot of artists don't like putting themselves into a box, just wanted to see where the distribution in terms of genre was in this network. Keep creating!
Change the Way You Think
99.9% of the artists try to break through in the U.S. and then focus on conquering the rest of the world (mainly by touring Europe). However, has anyone ever thought about an approach of doing this the other way around by targeting major European countries like France, Germany or Italy - where English is not their first language - in order to break into the U.S. market using the leverage of fans, airplay, etc. that you've built up?

Maybe we can ask this on a call marketing call. I think its a valid point to get yourself up and running and have some money coming in from music and a foreign fanbase, and then funneling the money into a more competitive market like the US. Idea sounds valid and I know that's what One Direction did.

This channel is highly underrated: Musformation - talks a lot about the importance of community building when growing a fanbase, networking with other artists, and organic marketing. I think combining a lot of what he talks about with stuff from BMN would be the way to go. It takes a village to break an artist and create a long lasting career (and significant monetary marketing investment).
