Do you use AI (Artificial Intelligence)?
Wondering who here might be using AI, and how. Maybe for marketing? Maybe for your podcast? Maybe we can share some AI tips that can help your podcast, or your marketing? Would anyone here be interested in something like that? *(I'm talking about something free, shared freely right here in the community, just like I've done with my other posts...) I use it for quite a bit (then again I've always been a nerd at heart, so I like to keep up with what I can.)

@Catherine Garrett approach it with a play mentality. A curious exploration like a child. Voice cloning is still in it's infancy, and will continue to grow. If you do want to explore it, I would currently explore the ElevenLabs version, as it's the most advanced so far.

@Catherine Garrett glad to help.
A Free Sound Studio? That you might already own?
Having a conversation with @Elizabeth Shuler and we were talking about how to get good sound & audio quality. This brought up a tip I want to share in it's own post. When it comes to quality audio, it can be difficult to get clear sound, especially if your location is in a city where there are noises all around. You might not know this, but you may already have a much better sound booth where you can just step in, and get some much better audio. Vehicles (especially newer vehicles) are made to be more soundproof than your house. They are designed to reduce or eliminate the sound from your surroundings. Without that soundproofing you would hear all the sounds from the road, the engine, the cars around you. So if you want to record better audio with less outside noise, step into your vehicle. (the second quietest location is the shower or bathroom, because nobody wants to hear other people doing their business.)

@Sherille Marquez you are most welcome! I've definitely been around the block, and have quite a few stories. (My own, and my clients.) Then again, we all do. It's a matter of perspective and realizing just how important our own journey is in the grand scheme of helping people. Sometimes having some outside perspective helps us to see our own journey in a more powerful light.

@Elizabeth Shuler that's fantastic to have a partner you can "play" with things like that together on. I'm the math & design guy, and my partner is the creative & artsy girl. We find that teamwork to be genuine gold quite often.
Nobody cares! Nobody's listening. You'll never stand out.
Your social media SUCKS! (And it's not going to get any better...) Catch your attention? GOOD! That proves my next point. IF you want to stand out on social media, you have to capture attention. Now, it's time to let you off the hook. It's not your fault that your posts aren't getting attention. You have so much to compete with, like boobs, butts, and all the other "Feel Good" "Pleasure" content. Here's some insight that can help. If you scroll through your feed on any given day, you've DEFINITELY seen WAY more boobs & butts than real DEEP transformational content. Why is that? I can talk about the mysterious "ALGORITHM"... but even that boils down to ONE thing... What KEEPS people on a platform? (Because platforms make money by having people stick around.) Whatever catches attention, and what catches attention? PLEASURE. WHY? Because that's how the brain is wired. So how do you STAND OUT? USE something more important to the mind than pleasure... PAIN. The brain is wired to AVOID pain before it is wired to SEEK pleasure. AVOIDING PAIN keeps us alive. PLEASURE is what I call "PROCREATION MOTIVATION". So hitting the pain first catches people's attention, then you relieve some pain, then compassion, offer some guidance, then wrap it up with a CTA, usually something to build goodwill (NOT A SALE). If you enjoyed this, LIKE, and drop a comment to let me know what you got from this, and if you want more tips like this, right here n the community. Here's another example using the same format I used for this post: Headline: "Lost in a Sea of Likes? Your Voice is Drowning!" Pain: STOP Screaming Into A Tidal Wave! Picture this: you're posting, scrolling, liking - doing all the things everyone says you should do on social media. But it's like you're invisible. You're content is drowning in the flood of perfect selfies, hilarious videos, and endless feel-good content, your posts just don't seem to matter. It's like you're yelling in a crowded room where everyone's too busy to listen.

@Maya Slivkov you are most welcome. This is a very solid format you can use in just about any kind of post, or even a video script... like a YouTube video, FB Live, or anything like that. Works well because it hits the psychology of how the brain is wired.
How Can I Help You? [Podcast Edition]
I'm a helper, and I love helping people. I'm also an expert at solving problems and creating solutions (plus I'm a master researcher). I want to provide some value here, as a way of further connecting to quality people. So, my offer is to help you, to the best of my ability, with any challenge you're having, right here on this thread. I'm not pitching anything, not going to ask for a DM, real help, right here for everyone to see. I've already started with someone who wanted to know more about AudioGrams. Not only will this help you, but my hope is that it will also help anyone else reading this post. So, let me know what you're having a challenge with, and let's keep this one related to Podcasting (after all, that's what this whole community is about, right?) To give you some ideas... --> Mindset Challenges --> Tech Questions --> Audio Questions --> Production Questions --> Guest Questions --> Host Questions (Keep in mind this will all be my take on things, being that you're here, you should follow what Jamie & Angel teach here. I'm offering my perspective to help move things forward & provide value to the community as a whole.)

@Jaclyn Gee ok, so I believe you want to know how to capture attention, and bring people into your world? This is a fantastic topic, and one I'll create a whole other post on with more detail, but here's some quick insights... You have to stand out more than all the other content that's on TikTok, Facebook, IG, etc. (MOST of that content is Feel Good or 'Pleasure' content.) If you want to stand out against that content, find what makes them hurt. Because nothing catches attention more than the pain. What is the pain? What hurts the most? (That's LITERALLY the way the brain is wired. AVOID pain first, THEN seek pleasure.) Here's a format for AWARENESS content (Getting people's attention) PAIN --> The world can seem like too much sometimes. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, and nobody understands the pain you deal with on a daily basis. RELIEF FROM GUILT --> It's not your fault. You are not broken, and you are not alone. You simply weren't taught XYZ. Society isn't built for the way you are. etc. COMPASSION --> I get it. You've tried XYZ, and it's frustrating when it doesn't work, or doesn't last. GUIDANCE --> Here's a tip that works. CTA --> Let's connect & share with someone who needs this. This will also build your authority and help you become a safe place in their mind when they come in contact with your content. By building goodwill, and genuinely caring, you are also building the Know, Like, Trust factor with your audience.

@Roger Peters that sounds awesome! If you don't mind, can I keep that invitation open for a little bit? I'd like to get some things staged on my back end before I take you up on that, so I can maximize the exposure.
Pro Audio Tips For Getting Better Sound (Untreated Rooms)
This was a response on another post where I offered to help in general, and I thought it could use it's own post.... so here it is... Elizabeth Shuler was asking about how to get better sound with her noisy surroundings (like traffic, etc). So I did some research, and coupled that with my decades of audio experience (I was a Rave DJ in the Bay Area for over 10 years when I was younger, and I've been doing recordings, courses, livestreams, etc. for over 30 years...) Tips *** The MIC makes a HUGE difference. (Cardioid, Directional Mics, pointed in the direction you want them to pick up sound) *** The space immediately around the MIC is the 2nd most important (Isolation Cover, Isolation Shield) *** A Full Sound Booth is nice to have, but you can solve a LOT of the issues with the tips above *** To help with Plosives (Popping P sounds) & Sibilance (Slithering S Sounds), speak at a 45 Degree angle to the mic and use a pop filter. After a short research trip down memory lane: Best Splurge --> Hands Down for voice over work, (including meditations) especially in an untreated room Shure SM7B (~ $400) --> Best for voice over work, (including meditations) in an untreated room (WITH the added bonus of being a central piece if you expand into multiple mics for podcasting) Zoom H6 (~$230) (This is also my GO TO mic for all of my voice recordings and livestreams, including guided meditations, at least until I upgrade to the SM7B) Best Budget Great sound, especially for livestreaming Blue Yeti (~$100) (This is one I use for my client sessions) Good, warm sound, great for voiceover or livestreaming Audio-Technica AT2020 (~$100) (This is one I was gifted, but haven't used often because of the other options I have) Best TYPES of mics for untreated rooms Mics with directional polar patterns (e.g., cardioid) Best additions for sound treatment Griffin Studio Microphone Soundproofing Acoustic Foam Panel (Good entry sound treatment that works well with a mic stand)

@Elizabeth Shuler glad to help! I know how much of a pain it can be to get good audio, especially with something like guided meditations. Let me know how it goes. (FYI, a car is literally made to be more soundproof, so it's like a rolling voice studio, which is also why you see a lot of influencers recording in their cars.)
