My Story Whenever I taught the Pages app, which is Apple’s word-processing app, I would include this story as part of my intro: When my son was in middle school some years ago, he was assigned a project to create a brochure about a country. Of course, this was intended to be a joint student and parent project, with the parent figuring out how to create the brochure in Microsoft Word, or some other app. He gathered all the text and photos and we began putting the project together into a Microsoft Word document. I was inserting the text easily but I had problems inserting the photos. After a good amount of time without success, I remembered software I recently purchased from Apple. It was Apple’s version of Microsoft Office, and it included the app called Pages for word processing app. So I opened the Pages app, and found several templates. I selected a beautiful brochure template that had borders, and completed the brochure in about 10 minutes. I was worried because the borders didn’t print fully but we decided it was time for him to go to bed. He would be fine turning it in as it was. The next day after school, I asked him how things went with his brochure. He responded “Oh, OK I guess. She gave me extra credit!” Of course she did! Although all students needed help from their parents to complete the project, NO ONE had a border, even if we knew the full border did not print. Pages is still my go to app for word processing!

I'm on LinkedIn but seldom used it in the past. I'm in the process of updating my profile and will probably use it more for promoting my business. I'm also on Instagram (only recently) and FaceBook (mostly).
