New Here!
Hey everyone! I’m an audio engineering student (Full Sail University) and an artist from Statesville, NC. I’ve been doing sound engineering for live shows for the past 6 months, and just getting started on studio recording. Would love to work with anyone or everyone who is serious about their craft! Let’s be great all year, and beyond!

Welcome Dominic!
Performing
How soon should an artist perform? Do you wait to build enough fans then perform? Do you bite the bullet and perform first then worry about building a fan base? I always see people talk about performing, but for me personally, I'm more focused on building a fan base first before anything. What do you all think?

I believe artists should perform at any opportunity they can just as practice. Whether it's open mics, covers of others' songs, or their own music, any opportunity to build stage comfort and presence is important.
Who’s had the best album roll out in recent memory?
Off the top of my head I’d say Astroworld just because I feel like Travis has done such a great job creating a Universe that he invites us into once in awhile. From the Art work to the visuals and the anticipation. He has that spot for me. Some notable mentions would be Tyler the creator and Her Loss. CLB had potential with that intro video they shot with “kid Drake” but the pandemic kinda ruined it with all the push backs. What do y’all think?

I think SZA had a pretty great roll out, even though her album was delayed for a long time. The internet and TikTok has done wonders for the roll out.
Feature Price?
At whatever level you currently are do you charge for features? If so, how do you determine the price?

I think artists would have to be pretty well established with a legitimate fanbase that would help boost another artists visibility in a significant way to charge for a feature.
Major label or major artist
Which would you prefer to sign to and why?

I like the idea of being signed to a major artist in the way Kanye and Rihanna were with Jay-Z. Definitely a mentorship kind of relationship would be ideal and I also find that, in a way, it offers protection for you in the industry to be associated with an already established/respected/powerful person.
