4 Mile/40lbs Ruck in the bag!
Total time was 48:07! Was thinking of everyone today and it helped push me along! Now since I’m technically the admin for this page, I’m not sure if I should be exempt from competing and winning the challenges or not… 🤣 I’ll post a poll and we can do whatever the majority decides.

4 Mile/40lbs Ruck in the bag!
Free Month on Nutrition Coaching
I just want to thank all of you who so far have joined and been involved in posting and engaging in rucking 101! I’m so glad I have found a few people out there like myself who enjoy rucking and have made it a staple in their exercise routine. I definitely want to grow the community as much as possible so in an effort to do so, here is a valuable offer for those who want to take advantage of it: Anyone who refers 5 people to rucking101 will get a month of free nutrition coaching by my wife Alba who is a NCI certified nutrition coach. Once your 5 referrals have jointed, DM me and I will get you setup with her.

For the love of rucking...
Hey everyone, glad to be here! Started rucking mid '23 after reading "The Comfort Crisis" and listening to Peter Attia. I'm 60 and looking for longevity! I started with an old Gold's Gym 20 lb adjustable weight vest. Wanted to make sure I liked it before spending money. Believe I started with 8 pounds and slowly increased by 2 pounds. A few months ago I picked up a RUSH 12 from 5.11 along with 20 and 10 pound plates. I'm now doing 33 lbs including the pack on 4 mile rucks(3-4 times per week) in the regional park near my house. My normal pace is around 13.5 mins per mile and there is a total of 500 ft vertical on the route. Happy to join this online community and looking to join a local community here in San Diego as well. PS: Just read the contest rules and I'll enter on Thursday, don't really like taking selfies but for a GoRuck plate carrier...I'm in.

So glad to have you here! Your pace sounds like we have a potential winner. I’m not a fan on ANY kind of pictures either but unfortunately that’s the only way we could think to keep people honest lol!
Cost effective carriers for plates?
I started rucking with two pound dumbells in my backpack. Then got a 25 pound plate that fits in the laptop sleeve. But is there a better way to carry the plate? The day after I ruck, my lower back kinda hurts. Not sure if I am doing this right.

@Tom Eskey that’s awesome to hear! Everything I’ve read about it was encouraging. Nice to know we’ll be giving away something high quality 👍

@Tom Eskey yes we are! Take a look at the weekly competition announcement. Also - please share this community with whomever you think would enjoy being apart of it! Trying to grow it as much as possible.
Weekly Contest!!!
Being that this is the first contest and we have a mix of beginner and experienced ruckers, I had to come up with a contest that would be formidable for both groups. There are weight minimums for each gender and you MUST use the specified weight when doing a competition ruck. Please no cheaters, that takes the fun out of all of this. For those who are not using weight plates and home objects instead, please feel free to reach out to me or even post on the page to figure out how to get to the specified weight with home objects. For specific instructions on how to post/enter a ruck for the competition, go to the classroom tab and look at the lesson “How to compete.” Competition details are as follows: - 4 Mile Ruck for time - Weight Minimums - Men 30lbs / Women 20lbs - Overall fastest time wins - Contest runs from 8/18 - 8/24 - PRIZE: GORUCK - RUCK PLATE CARRIER 3.0 W/ 25lb WEIGHT PLATE ($230 Value!!)
