Do you start something new, or clean up old tasks?
It's the end of the year and I find I'm struggling with that decision. My "the efficient business owner part of me" says lead generate, advertise, and drive revenue. Do the 20% of tasks that drive 80% of the results. Another part of me says "you've put off so much admin while finishing the book and prepping for the event and you can't do that any longer". Is anyone else facing this issue, or a similar one? How are you working through it?

@Nicolas Demastrie that's a good point, there's mental clarity/freedom that comes from clearing out the junk. I had a HUGE pile of mail that I plowed through last Saturday. It felt great

I thought of another app... Quickbooks. I actually hate its user interface but having all my bank accounts feed into it ensures I don't miss any write offs. There are SO MANY things we get to write off as agents and missing something could cost you big time. @Jerrica Kontos has some accounting software she likes that's better than QB. What's it called Jerrica?

@Inez St James can you upload a market update you had ChatGPT make to this comment so @Nicolas Demastrie can see an example?
Condo Inspection
Has anybody personally had or have heard of something big coming up in a condo inspection? Any horror stories? Anything 5k+ in repairs? Do you personally typically waive inspections for condos?

The biggest thing I've had come up on an inspection is an HVAC issue. The other expensive elements are usually covered by the association. Whether you should waive or not comes down to your client's comfort with doing that. Generally speaking it's safer to waive an inspection on a condo than a house though.
2024 Reflection
What's one thing you're deeply proud of that you achieved in 2024? Was this something you were aiming to accomplish or did it just come naturally? Doesn't have to be Real Estate related

@Jorden Dupont no worries, keep it private. I know what it is. It's powerful and you should be proud of it! Can't wait to hear how it goes next week ๐Ÿ˜€
What are your thoughts...
Not sure about all of you but I often feel like I need to be available 100% of the time for my clients especially in a time where instant gratification is rampant. That mindset, IMO, is not sustainable and there is no work/life balance which is big for me. I am wondering what you do to try and maintain that balance and what boundaries do you set. Do you put your phone on do not disturb after a certain time? Do you not answer calls on holidays? Do you set your clients up with a trusted partner when you are away on vacation? I am fully aware that there are exceptions based on the particular situation but in general what are some of your best practices?

@Jennifer Stich it seems to consistently be a guilty feeling that we all share that keeps us from setting expectations the way we want to. Consider this: your doctor has an on call answering service, and we call them when our kids are sick AF. They're responsible for our health and wellness and we don't expect on-demand service from them and have their cell phones...

@Jennifer Stich itโ€™s similar to the conversation we had today about how to get into the conversation about representation right away
